Ridgecrest Academy, located in Davidson County, is not only a member of the Association of Recovery Schools, but it is Tennessee's only recovery high school. Yes, you read that correctly. Ridgecrest is the only recovery school in the entire state! Ridgecrest provides an environment and program of study that has proven effective to a student’s recovery and education. Students receive a high-quality education alongside recovering peers who know what they are going through. The school opened its doors in 2014 and offers testing and consulting services to support students and their families. Students attend classes from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday. Class sizes remain small to offer individualized attention. Students meet daily with their recovery coach and have weekly sessions with a psychologist. Graduates receive the equivalent of a homeschool high school diploma.
Tuition and admission requirements force potential students to take their recovery and education seriously. Annual tuition is $25,000, and while students can have been in recovery for as little as 30 days, the remaining admission requirements are quite stringent. This is necessary for teens in recovery though, as their rates of relapse are higher than most. While Ridgecrest needs 15-20 students to stay open, they do award some partial and full scholarships. They remain committed to their purpose.
“Our highest priority at Ridgecrest is remaining dedicated to our mission and to do everything possible to help each of our students succeed – one day at a time.”
